China must achieve a reliable and stable grid that works for the renewable energy sources the country is going to depend on.

Upgrading, extending and connecting China’s electricity grids is essential to meet the official emissions reduction and renewable energy targets. It is also essential for a more competitive market and cheaper electricity. Without new and better grids, China cannot exploit its enormous renewable energy resources and rapidly move towards a clean energy economy.
